Once upon a co-working space Wyron A
Sometimes, I sit in a random coffee shop and watch people go by their lives. Some people sports a serious facial expression, which I believe it reflects their fragile ego, and some others smile like the sunshine. But whatever expressions I encounter, I try to imagine what would their life be like beneath their physical appearances.
There’s a repeated pattern that keeps popping up in my head, that no matter what people looks like, I can see how average they are, or we are. I included myself in this equation because I’m aware that we are all average in the large scheme of life.
In whenever timeline of humanity, there was the beautiful, the smart, the pathetic, and there was someone like me who sits hidden among people and write observations.
Well, if this is the case, then what would be the purpose of all this? If we keep looping the same episode over and over, then are we expecting to conclude different results? Or we are doomed to repeat this cycle to extract some hidden details that will lead to a better meaning of life?
I also noticed that I’m not the only one who’s noticing the current scene. I noticed that the barista and I are making observations together. I’m observing a beautiful woman who just got into the place, and he’s observing me how I’m observing her, while I observe him how he observes me and her.
Who is the observer? Who is the subject?
